Last night Daniel Merriweather jumped coasts to play a special acoustic set at the Viper Room. The NYC boy, originally from Australia, serenaded a rapt audience including friends Samantha Ronson, Lake Bell and Carlos Lopez with tunes from his debut album, "Love and War."

Under the direction of producer Mark Ronson, the sometime trouble maker (he has previously been charged with criminal assault) seems to have made a smooth transition from making war to making music.
A production crew from "Last Call with Carson Daly" filmed the performance to accompany Merriweather's upcoming guest spot on the late-night talk show, set to air sometime next week. The musician is clearly enjoying his ongoing tour, even expressing gratitude to fans over Twitter after the show, answered by happy listeners:
