Just as this cold spell befell the city, Los Angeles Magazine and The Hawaiian Islands teamed up to deliver an event that would make anyone brave the rain with The Hawaii Mai Tai Mix-Off.
Dreary weather in Los Angeles usually means indoor activities and a city too wimpy to venture out of the house, but not this week. Wednesday night, LA Magazine brought some tropical goodness to Supperclub right when Angelenos needed it most, and helped us forget about the gloom with Hawaiian snacks, cocktails and an array of tropical entertainment at their Hawaii Mai Tai Mix-Off.
As you might have gathered from the title, the event featured a Mai Tai Mix-Off—yes, competitive drink-making—to kick off the night where L.A.'s creme de la creme of mixology Adrian Biggs (La Descarga), Aidan Demarest (Spare Room), and Matt Biancaniello (Library Bar) fought for the title of "Master Mixer." The tropical festivities continued with live Hawaiian music, acrobats dancing overhead, and plenty of leis and drinks with little umbrellas. Cheers to LA Mag and The Hawaiian Islands' perfect timing with this event and for giving this town a temporary tropical hideaway from the cold.
