Take yourself out to the ballgame and stroll Echo Park (before it gets too gentrified)

Football may be the behemoth that dominates the hearts and minds of every sports fan from August to February, but baseball is still our National Pastime and there are few better places in the world to see a game than Dodgers Stadium. Tickets start at $10 for the cheap seats during day games but there really isn't a bad place to watch "Los Doyers" and chow down on a Dodger Dog.

Echo Park, where the stadium is located, is a fun and funky area that can keep you busy all day– explore the street art and architecture and go scale the Avalon-Baxter Steps to catch some great views of Hollywood before engaging your bookish side (Angelenos are nerdy too) at the always-happening Stories Bookstore and Café.

Dodgers Stadium: 1000 Elysian Park Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Stories Book Store: 1716 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
