Inside Alec Monopoly's "Park Place" Exhibition Opening At LAB ART

As the country's largest street art gallery, LAB ART was the ideal host to Alec Monopoly's solo exhibition debut in L.A. You may not realize it, but you're probably quite familiar with his work as you've likely seen his signature Monopoly Man and Jack Nicholson designs scattered across L.A.'s many 'blank canvas' curbside surfaces. Last night's opening for the highly anticipated one-man show drew a stylish crowd of local tastemakers, street artists, art lovers, and pop culture enthusiasts who got a first glimpse of his iconic images included in the "Park Place" collection. In addition to the many Monopoly and Nicholson designs, his works referenced a wide array of pop culture figures with visual representations of Michael Jackson, Twiggy, Jimi Hendrix and many more. The night also showcased a collaborative project between Alec Monopoly and Adrien Brody who together transformed a mint 1964 Pontiac Catalina parked inside LAB ART into a driveable piece of art.
