Slide #14

Elle recently did a profile on Jones as her "it" girl stock is currently rises in overdrive and everyone wants a piece of her. On a separate but semi-related note, I have a real problem with the whole concept of "it" girl. Edie Sedgwick is widely accepted as the original "it" girl because she had cool style, knew how to party, famously squandered her trust fund on drugs, chaffeurs and shopping, and Andy Warhol found her amusing, but she didn't actually do anything. My point is, we can call Jones an "it" girl for now, but we need to work on a new term for the ones who have distinguished themselves and won the attention of tastemakers and the media through some kind of talent or merit beyond being born into the means to be fabulous and afford awesome shoes.
