As everyone knows, the Abbot Kinney area is basically the Park Slope of West LA, where the residents don't let the astronomical cost-of-living get in the way of their self-image as funky, counter-culture bohemians. This is how things like bike valets and vegan sushi happen. Then again, it tends to ensure that the Festival, you know, actually happens.
