In some places, sports fans tailgate, paint their faces and chests, make signs, host or hit up local bars for viewing parties, or even attend the sporting event du jour.  But here in L.A., we throw pool parties in close proximity to the celebrated sporting event, like Saturday's Creme de la Creme Pool Party on the rooftop of The Standard, Downtown for the X Games 16. Nothing says love and dedication in L.A. like a pool party.

Going shirtless and laying out to get some color lets the day's athletes know you care. Who doesn't want tan fans?
