Swagger. It's a pretty annoying word, right? Well, yes, because 98% of the time it's applied, we're talking about dipshits spraying champagne on each other at Supperclub or some bazillionaire rapper telling a nation facing 12% unemployment about his four (leased) Bentleys. But there's another kind of swagger, too, a grimier kind of aggressive self-promotion that, when combined with clever social commentary and a healthy dose of tongue in cheek, is pretty undeniably great. Luckily, that's exactly the vibe that Das Racist got famous for providing, and they brought it out in full form to Check Yo Ponytail 2 at the Echoplex on Tuesday night.
