Another week, another art round up. A lot of great stuff is up right now that you should be looking at and a lot of juicy stuff is happening that you should be reading about. So let's not dilly dally shall we? Off we go:

OPENING:
-L&M is siren calling us from Venice to see the opening of their exhibition of L.A. artist Thomas Houseago. They have no images regarding the show up yet, the suspense is killing me!
-Luis de Jesus is opening an exhibition on Saturday night of Margie Livingston and Geoffrey Todd Smith. Promises to be colorful!
-
-The Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art in Malibu is opening up a show about the artistic process of Roy Lichtenstein. Informative and fun!

ONGOING:
-You have to stop by the Known Gallery and see Keegan Gibbs' work. The show is perfect, the pieces are perfect. Just a well executed show of some beautiful photographs. You can't ask for anything more.
-I'm super into photography right now, I think it has to do with the changing unpredictable weather, I need something more static? Who knows. Taylor De Cordoba has an amazing show up showcasing the works of Sasha Bezzubov, a must see of thoughtful, quiet photographs of forests and places ruined by wildfire.
-I haven't been yet, but Rebecca Taylor says Mike Kelley at He Who Must Not Be Named is the best in the city. Gotta stop by.
-I have been super naughty and haven't been to the Huntington yet to see the Bukowski exhibit and it is my numero uno priority this weekend. I hope I don’t see you there because you have been better than I and have already seen it!

***NEWS!***
1. There was a ‘Funeral Procession of Free Artistic Expression’ yesterday in downtown L.A. in regards to the censorship by the Smithsonian and MOCA.
"We're here to protect our first amendment rights, we're here to advocate that the dialogue of AIDS funding and the people suffering with AIDS should not be whitewashed and should not be covered up."
YES! [Hyperallergic]
2. Melody Kanschat, the president of LACMA is stepping down in May. Hey Govan, I'm available. [Culture Monster]
3. Speaking of LACMA, they are revealing some more details about the much anticipated upcoming Tim Burton exhibit. Really whetting the appetite. [LATimes]
4. From all I can tell, they are hoping that the VIP Art Fair that is the first art fair online will be successful because of this following analogy (that I just made up):
VIP Art Fair is to Impulsive Millionaires as an Awesome Jeffrey Campbell Shoe Sale is to a Broke Me.
Good Luck VIP guys, if this analogy turns out to be true, you are in some good luck! [Bloomberg]

5. Any reason to talk about Boy George. He just returned an icon to an Orthodox Christian Church. He didn't really want to hurt anyone. [ArtDaily]
