Gibes at her mother

Kate isn't the only Middleton the piece puts in a not-so-flattering light. Carole, Kate's mother, is revealed to be somewhat of a social-climbing snob. It quotes a craftsman who worked on Anmer Hall, Kate and William's country home, as saying Carole was "the most difficult" client he's ever worked with. "She was exceedingly demanding, fussy and questioned everything." The mag also hints at some judgment from Kate's inner circle of aristocrats, who roll their eyes at Carole's try-hard home decor, describing it "like a gleaming five-star hotel with cushions plumped and candles lit" as opposed to the typical old money embrace of the understated.
