It seems the final nail is firmly in the coffin of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal roles.
Considering her grandson's full-time move to the states (because if you're really desperate for privacy, you move to LA of all places...), and surprise tell-all sit down soon to air with Oprah, the Queen has released a statement relaying her sadness at the unfortunate reality "that in stepping away from the work of the Royal Family it is not possible [for Harry and Meghan] to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service."
Translation: You're either out or in and they chose out.
Despite their desire to hold onto the honorary military appointments and patronages, Harry and Meghan have officially been stripped of their final regalia.
And while one has to wonder how it is they possible could have thought this would play out any other way (I mean, honestly), they don't seem to be taking it that well...
Just moments after the Queen's message was released, the couple made a defensive statement of their own, hitting back at the notion that their desertion of the UK has rendered them unable to serve.
Coming for the Queen?
One member of London high society in particular, with more than her fair share of royal connections, is so not here for it.
Sabine Getty took to Instagram this afternoon with a short and sweet clap back for Meghan in particular.
"Am I actually reading this?! Saying this to the Queen who is 94 years old and has been in public service her entire life? Girl. Take a seat."
Considering she was a guest at Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie's wedding, knows Kate Middleton well enough to wish her a happy birthday, accessorizes Princess Beatrice, fan girls the Queen's speech and is one of the most powerful, fashionable names in Europe, we're going to guess she's not the only one in the elite royal inner circle who finds the Sussex's behavior less than proper.
