Everyone is gearing up for the 2012 London Olympics, even fast food franchises. The World's Largest McDonald's which seats up to 1,500 people was built to prepare for the onslaught of traffic, but the folks over at Burger King are taking a slightly different approach. A more artsy approach. A London Burger King recently installed a Damien Hirst piece of art that is valued between $233,000 and $622,000 in an attempt to impress Olympic travelers. Hirst is friends with the BK franchisee who owns the location, and his art will give the Burger King a museum-esque flare. This particular piece is called "Beautiful Naked Psychedelic Gherkin Exploding Tomato Sauce All Over Your Face, Flame grilled Painting 2003." And no I'm not kidding. The name of the piece may be more of a mouthful than a triple whopper with cheese, but hey, maybe it will help Burger King stand out.
