Forget "Livin' On A Prayer." In just a few short months you'll be livin' on this rosé. By pure coincidence, Jon Bon Jovi happens to be behind them both.
The rock star has joined forces with acclaimed French winemaker, Gérard Bertrand, to launch the seasonal vino this spring. Appropriately named "Diving into Hampton Water," the rosé was also conceptualized with the help of Bon Jovi's son, Jesse Bongiovi, after the pair spent some time together out East. Jesse and a friend must have quickly realized what we all already know - in the Hamptons, the rosé flows like water - and voilà, the cheeky little name was born.
After being introduced to Gérard Bertrand, father and son traveled to the South of France, where the bon vivant lifestyle is just as ubiquitous. The three developed a shared vision and a wine capturing the essence of both summertime destinations came into fruition. A lively pour, "Diving into Hampton Water" features Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, grape varieties from the French Mediterranean region.
According to JBJ, "Creating this wine with Gérard was just as creative as collaborating with another songwriter, Gérard uses his talents and wine knowledge just like a gifted musician. And working with my son on this has been an amazing experience." Aww!
Set to retail for $25 (what a steal!), bottles will be hitting shelves before spring. Sounds like all our prayers have been answered.
