From its upscale beach shack decor to its surfer cool kid clientele, The Surf Lodge is the perfect spot to celebrate World Oceans Day this Saturday. The Montauk hot spot made waves this season (no pun intended) when they announced a new eco-friendly initiative to eliminate single-use plastic on premises. Now, they're teaming up with performer and entrepreneur Jaden Smith, along with the Surfrider Foundation, to raise awareness and save our oceans.
The weekend activities are highlighted by JUST Water co-founder Jaden Smith’s performance on Saturday evening on the deck, a fundraising dinner with the Surfrider Foundation, Montauk beach cleanup and group discussion led by the Surfrider Foundation’s CEO, Chad Nelsen, with Jaden Smith, DJ Crespo and professional surfers Evan Valiere and Quincy Davis. The event will culminate on Sunday with a women’s wellness ‘Traditional Water Tea Ceremony’ and Ocean Lovers Brunch hosted by Cynthia Rowley and Jayma Cardoso.
“As a grassroots organization that works with local communities to build scalable change from the ground up, we’re excited to work together with JUST Water and the Surf Lodge to help protect our ocean and coasts,” said Dr. Chad Nelsen, CEO of the Surfrider Foundation. “Support for the weekend events will have a lasting impact on the protection of clean water and healthy beaches.”
