Kanon Vodka and the guys behind The Smile in NYC threw a boozy BBQ filled with the usual pool party essentials, and a couple out of the ordinary elements...like tattoos. A few notable names, and even Team GofG, got the urge to get inked at this 4th of July bash, while others opted to stick to Kanon cocktails and lounging by the pool.
@KanonVodka tweeted yesterday:
"People woke up this morning with tattoos. Thank us later. #whataparty"
Yeah, we can relate. After maybe half a drink (in my defense, those puppies were strong) and some mild coercion from a crew of Brits (happy 4th?) and Richie Rich, I found myself away from the ruckus outside and sitting in the living room of the Southampton estate. Becka Diamond, who had earlier in the day gotten a new diamond tattooed on her neck, encouraged the girl before me as the Brooklyn-based tattoo artist took the needle to her ribcage. Ouch.
I opted for a much more tame location...adding a new star to the existing one on my ankle. I know, SO original. But hey, how many people can say they got inked at a boozy Hamptons bbq on the 4th of July? Well, after this bbq, I guess quite a few....
Post-tattoo, kids went back to the booze-bbq-booze-bbq rotation out on the lawn, just with a little less blood, a little more ink, and saran wrap awkwardly taped around their new art. Now that's what we call a party.
