Montauk's newest nautical nosh-center, Navy Beach, is opening this Thursday, perfect for kids of all ages (activities range from rock skipping to cocktail sipping) to enjoy some coastal cuisine and a laid-back vibe.-
The food should be good, with Chef Paul Labue from The Laundry in East Hampton cooking for a team managed by industry veterans Frank Davis and Franklin Ferguson. But watching the sunset on the resort's private beach is what's going to entice the masses all the way out to Montauk - panoramic windows overlook the beautiful waterfront and focal points Block Island Sound and Gardiners Island while the sun slowly lowers itself into the western horizon.
Navy Beach will be open for dinner Thursday through Monday beginning at 5:30 p.m.; lunch will be served on Saturday beginning at 12 noon; brunch (maybe a new Montauk boozy brunch option?) will be served on Sunday beginning at 11:30 a.m.; the bar will open at 3:30 p.m.
Drinking our day away at Navy Beach from 11:30am through sunset sounds like our new Montauk Sunday ritual.
