Thank goodness it's almost the weekend again! It's taken us all a while to recuperate from the shenanigans of Memorial Day Weekend - and with due cause, if the Melet Mercantile store opening in Montauk was any indication. Ultimate hipster, Paul Sevigny, had everyone getting their groove on last Saturday until the party was moved to The Surf Lodge.

The store is filled with an array of art and vintage clothing, like the retrospective of Maripol's original Polaroids, books, jewelry and clothing which made its debut at the opening. Caught in these eye-catching photos are the personalities that glittered like the disco balls spinning overhead at legendary New York nightclubs of the 80s (ie. Studio 54, Palladium, Danceteria). Such portrayals of iconic figures like Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, and Madonna (in a bright pink wig to boot) bring memories of the last days of disco to the beaches of the East End.
