She's back! Samantha Yanks, Editor in Chief of Gotham and Hamptons Magazine, and overall expert Hamptonite, gives us the low down on the edgiest boutiques the Hamptons has to offer. From vintage, downtown chic, to elegant high-end designers, follow Yanks' guide to shopping while your staying out East!
Brainchild of Greg Buntain and Jesse Warren, Tenet is without a doubt Southampton’s edgiest boutique. Housed in the old BookHampton storefront, its minimalist décor – think brick walls, original pressed-tin ceilings and old maple floors - makes for some superluxe shopping, and eclectic designers like Loeffler Randall, A.P.C. and Alexander Berardi offer a nice change of pace from the Hamptons norm. I especially love their NOT A GALLERY gallery in back.
Jarlath Mellett
Jarlath Mellett approaches his interior projects from a fashion standpoint, accessorizing with vintage touches, and his Amagansett store is testimony to this: airy space, earthy accents and unique wallpaper, lighting, bedding and furniture.
Tomas Maier
With its wood plank floors and whitewashed wood walls, the Wainscott outpost of Tomas Maier is entirely ‘Hamptons’ in feel. In addition to his eponymous collection of bikinis and casual clothing, the store carries a carefully curated collection of home goods, jewelry and books, personally selected by Tomas himself.

Yigal Azrouel
New York-based designer Yigal Azrouel brings his edgy, downtown aesthetic to the beach with a pop-up shop in Bridgehampton. Stocking an array of store-exclusive scarves and dresses, the pop-up also offers a large selection of the designer's secondary line, Cut25, including baby blankets and T-shirts made from the excess fabrics of his RTW collections.

Sylvester & Co At Home
Located in the heart of Amagansett, Sylvester’s offers a relaxed sense of elegance that epitomizes Hamptons’ style. Creative and eclectic, I adore its beautifully edited collection of home furnishings from Tucker Robbins, Mitchell Gold Bob Williams, Robin Rice Gallery, Fritz Hansen and more.
Gail Rothwell
Gail Rothwell is one of my favorites - a high-end designer boutique on Newtown Lane in East Hampton where I pick up amazing pieces from Marni and Lanvin.
