What have you learned about the people just by looking at their beaches?
Space. In some cultures, people are so comfortable being so close to each other in the sand. Rio de Janeiro is like that, Sydney’s like that, Chicago, too, actually. Others really spread themselves out, like healthy space. And then in some cities, people just don’t use beach umbrellas. In Sydney, Australia, you see like one. Others are covered in umbrellas.
