This weekend, the city flung open its doors to the public on Governors Island. Sunday evening was the moe. concert, a jam rock band that did a great job making everyone forget the strangely cold, bone-penetrating dampness that moved in on the breeze that night. As the name would imply, you can only reach the place by ferry. I got a spot up front and was greeted by something that looks like a Native American voodoo doll-hull ornament. As you can see, it's tar-black head has been baking in the East River sun longer than I've been alive. It was a great start to a fun evening. If you're interested in more Gov Island shows, you're in luck.
