[Photo via The Foodista] Eat This. Labor day weekend came and went taking away our days of lounging poolside and leaving us all with great summer memories and a serious 3-day weekend hangover. If you're able to peel yourself out of bed, what better way to ease back to your normal self than with the ultimate hangover food, pizza. The Foodista created her own version of NYC's Vesta Hangover Pizza with this easy to make recipe... leaving you with extra time to nurse your hangover while fitting in R & R before heading back to work. Ingredients and directions below...
Ingredients: 1 lb of pizza dough About 1/4 cup of tomato/marinara sauce (can be homemade or store bought) 1/2 cup of smoked Swiss cheese - or any cheese that you like. Could be mozzarella. 1 egg Fresh basil torn into medium-sized pieces Salt and pepper to taste
Directions: 1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Roll out pizza dough to desired shape 3. Top with tomato sauce and cheese and place in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough gets golden and the cheese melts. 4. Open the oven and break an egg right on top of the pizza. Be very careful not to move the pizza too quickly when sliding the oven tray back into position--the egg might roll off. 5. Bake for another 5 minutes or according to your egg preference. Remove from oven and top with fresh basil, salt and pepper.
