While most New Yorkers write the Hamptons off the map once Labor Day hits, those in-the-know are aware that fall can be one of the most beautiful times out east. And, for the wine-lovers out there, autumn also marks the coming of the high-profile Harvest East End.
The sharehouses have gone dark for the year, many shops have closed, but the Hamptons are still the place to be during the end of September. Kicking off the weekend of September 24 - 25, Harvest East End will bring a slew of New Yorkers, from Manhattan and Long Island alike, to celebrate the fruit of the Long Island grape harvest.
The event starts with these cool 10 mile dinners - intimate dinners at private homes and vineyards featuring notable chefs and Long Island wines - then continues with other fun wine-centric activities like educational wine info workshops, wine salons at several vineyards, a festival tasting featuring the best of Long Island food & wine and, as the grand finale, a gala dinner featuring the first ever Long Island wine auction.
