Did you get a chance to check out the beautiful grounds of the Montauk Yacht Club this summer either to party at an event on the Great Lawn or to escape the Hamptons fuss at one of their private water-front bungalows? The club revealed it's newly multi-million dollar makeover just in time to celebrate the 80th anniversary in June and now they're ready to spend more. Next, they plan to build an additional 48,000 square feet of luxury condos to go right along with their newly renovated property...That might be great news for those of you who consider owning your own piece of the Yacht Club a dream come true, but environmental advocates along with Montauk community members aren't exactly thrilled with the massive additions to the historic property and the impact it will make on Lake Montauk.
