So you have been bumper to bumper all the way to exit 70. You know what lies ahead on 27, heck, you even know the backroads through Sag are going to be a nightmare. What is a 15 minute sidetrack to Riverhead? I know what you are thinking, what the heck is in Riverhead, besides Splish Splash and the outlets? Cody's BBQ, that's what. I never considered myself a BBQ girl, but clearly it was because I was not eating the right BBQ. Even the cornbread was "worth it", I left my diet at the door after I sunk my teeth into the first bite. The best part is, this place is not only beyond reasonable (leave your Hamptons wallet home), but it's a nice atmosphere, with the docks right out back and spacious deck seating. Due to it's location, it is also a great idea to save this spot for your Sunday funday meal. Stop off before sitting in west bound city traffic or get it to go!
