Shwayze And Operation Smile At RdV East

Hosted by high school junior (yeah..wow) Danielle Winick, An Evening of Smiles at RdV East brought together young, well-to-do Hamptonites and - yep - Shwayze, to benefit Operation Smile.  

So we're pretty sure Danielle Winick is one of the coolest high-schoolers out there. Rather than mindlessly whittling away her summer days on the beach, Winick planned, and hosted, a Southampton gala to benefit Operation Smile. With one of the hottest locations in the Hamptons, RdV East, as a backdrop, and popular rapper Shwayze as the headlining entertainment, the young philanthropist's sophomore event (the first Evening of Smiles took place last year) was a huge hit.

The evening started with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and spins by DJ Ryan Skolnick, then moved into a live auction by Mitch Modell (with two Lady Gaga tickets going for $8,000) and the highlight the young crowd's night: a live performance by Shwayze. With hit songs like "Corona and Lime" and "Get U Home," the rapper had the crowd dancing, singing along, and - how appropriately - smiling.

From $45,000 worth of ticket sales at the door and over $50,000 during the live auction, the event raised a total of nearly $150,000 for Operation Smile. The money will be donated to the cause, which raises money to provide safe and effective reconstructive surgery for children with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
