Last Friday night launched the Soledad O'Brien and Brad Raymond Foundation, a charity that provides scholarships to young women, in Bridgehampton for a jazz-themed night of fun. Guests included Star Jones, Russell Simmons with actress Melissa George, jazz stars Kirk Frankin and Ron Carter, and event chairs Cicely Tyson and Pharrell Williams.
Event hosts Soledad O'Brien and Brad Raymond and host committee members such as CNN's Alina Cho and Jason Binn were also in attendance.
The Soledad O'Brien & Brad Raymond Foundation recently launched their official foundation enabling them to provide more scholarships to the underprivileged girls they have been quietly helping since Katrina's destruction. Inspiring speeches and a video presentation that introduced the crowd to the girls they have helped. Then the "New Orleans in the Hamptons" themed event got lively when Grammy award-winning trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and the New Orleans Jazz Playhouse Revue took the stage. Guests dinned on family style servings of New Orleans cuisine flown in from Louisiana and sipped Belvedere-infused, bayou-inspired cocktails.
