The 15th annual Artists Against Abuse gala at the Ross School brought artists and philanthropists together to raise money for the Retreat, a non-profit group that provides shelter, counseling, hotlines and legal advocacy for domestic abuse victims on the East End.
Hosted by Shannon Doherty, the event featured a silent auction of specially commissioned, hand-painted canvases as well as a live auction of larger artwork. In attendance were Beth Ostrosky Stern, LuAnn de Lesseps, Keith Hernandez, and News 12 Correspondent and entertainment reporter Gina Glickman, who filmed several interviews with guests.
Guests sipped on Channing Daughters wine and Crop vodka while mingling among live-auction art by notable artists including pieces by Louise Bourgeois, James Croak and Frank Stella. The hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dancing took place in the Ross School's Great Hall, which was converted into a fresh, lemon and lime ballroom by Brides Magazine Style Editor Maria McBride. To date, Artists Against Abuse has raised more than $1 million for the Retreat.
