Celebrities And Hamptonites Boost The Economy For A Cause At Super Saturday 12

For the twelfth year in a row, sorting through racks of clothes and sifting through piles of home goods in balmy 85 degree weather has never been so glamorous. A little heat didn't stop celebrities and fashion fiends from making their way to Super Saturday 12 in Water Mill to get their hands on goods from designers like Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Catherine Malandrino, Charlotte Ronson, Diane Von Furstenberg, Louis Vuitton, Emilio Pucci, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Intermix, Rachel Zoe and many, many more. So what do you get for the steep price of $450 (or $650 if you opt for the preview ticket which gets you an extra hour of exclusive shopping plus a goody bag at the day's end)?

Some serious discounts on clothing for the whole family, accessories and just about everything else under the sun. If you weren't in the market to max out your Mastercard, you didn't have to be left out of the day's events - A variety of activities were carried on throughout the day.

SoulCycle had a pedicure salong set up, Nintendo had a gaming lounge, RueLaLa.com was ready with a Treat Yourself tent for heavy shoppers looking to relax complete with polish changes, and Camp Divalysscious had "green activities" for kids to occupy them while their moms had their own kind of fun. Even if you weren't one of the people driving away with shopping bags spilling out of your trunk, regardless your presence at Super Saturday was still felt: Everyone who purchased a ticket even helped to raise $3.4 million to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). And of course, there's always the celebrity spotting. Where else are you going to see Blake Lively and Kelly Ripa hosting together? Additional guests included: Lorraine Bracco, Christy Turlington Burns, Mark Consuelos, Patrick Demarchelier, Edie Falco, Judith and Rudy Giuliani, Mariska Hargitay, Katie Lee Joel, Gayle King, Kelly Klein, Dina Lohan, Fern Mallis, Kelly Rutherford, Russell Simmons, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Kerry Washington, and Barbara Walters.

We know some of you are practically pros when it comes to the ins and outs of Super Saturday, and have been attending since you got your first credit cards, but for those of you who are newbies or are thinking of supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund next year by scooping up a ticket to the "Rolls Royce of Yard Sales" next year, we have a few of our own tips for that we gathered for ourselves. First off, don't believe everything you hear. Yes, you can score some good deals, but no, not everything is "practically free". Sperry's were still about $50, and Intermix prices were about the same as the highly discounted stuff in the store. But if you are willing to hang out for a few hours, as the day goes on and the inventory dwindles, the prices get slashed even further and vendors start to practically give the stuff away. Is it guaranteed to be in your size? Probably not. But chances are you'll be able to snag something good.

We were also impressed with the girls running around in not much more than their bathing suits and a cover-up. Not just because it kept them cool in the sweltering heat (even Blake Lively couldn't hide that she was breaking a sweat), but because it was easy to whip off your clothes for trying things on. Remember - no returns! And last piece of advice: You may want to go in there with a "shopping strategy". Short on jackets and want to pick up a necklace for your sister? You may totally forget all that when you see some racks of dresses you love. And Rachel Zoe. And then Kelly Ripa. It can get a little overwhelming in there. But don't take it from us. Make Super Saturday 13 a must do on your calendar for next summer. If not for the good, than for the cause. It's one event that won't only help a great organization, but your wardrobe as well.
