[All Photos by Nick Hunt for PMc] The Southampton Fresh Air Home kicked off their 108th Camp Season with the Decorators-Designer-Dealers (D-D-D) event this past Saturday at The Southampton Fresh Air Home. Although decorators, designers, and dealers might sound more like a convention than a charity, the combination of the three donated a wide array of items including art, linens, furniture, fashion, jewelry, porcelains, wine, travel, sports and entertainment. The proceeds from the sale of these donated items went to the Southampton Fresh Air Home. Overall, this years 17th annual D-D-D event was a great success with it raising 40% of the Fresh Air Home's annual operating budget.
The Fresh Air Home is a camp for physically challenged youth. Started in 1901 by a group of women in Southampton, part of the camp's mission statement states, "we are committed to helping our campers develop physically, emotionally, and educationally, with the goal of fostering self-esteem, maturity and independence through a broadly balanced program, while providing their families with a well-deserved respite."
