Wild by Cheryl Strayed
Cheryl Strayed was recently separated from her husband, and living alone in a studio apartment in Minneapolis when she decided to do something drastic. Her new memoir,
Wild, tells the story of her adventurous summer in 1995, which she spent hiking alone on the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mohave Desert through California and Oregon, all the way to Washington State. The journey began as simply an escape from the real world, and a chance to achieve what Strayed refers to as "radical aloneness." But the author truly underwent a fascinating transformation during her excursion.
Wild is an uplifting tale that is somewhat of an emotional roller-coaster for readers.
