Montauk has always had its own off-kilter surf culture. Do you still see it in the area?
As a truly enthusiastic and terrible surfer, I am always psyched to see legends both local and international in the water. I get to meet them all as so many are clients of Doctor Lila, and as she rids them of their back pain, they are always truly forgiving of my kookdom and will kindly present me with waves I don't really deserve. The surf culture in Montauk is vibrant, multi-generational and actually kind of sweet. The West Coast localism aggro doesn't really exist here.
