The same year Obama gave Mr. Brown a set of 25 DVDs, the Prime Minister reciprocated by giving Obama a pen and pen-holder. This pen isn't your typical Bic, though. A pen and pen-holder may sound like a terrible, useless gift, but Gordon Brown put a lot of thought into his 2009 gift for the President. The beautiful pen sits on a piece of wood that was carved from a former anti-slave ship, making it a significant gift for Obama both historically and personally. Also, the pen and holder are said to be worth upwards of $16,000.
