Diana Spencer in 1981 when she was just 19 years old. He proposed with an 18 carat sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds. At the time, the ring was purchased for just 30,000 pounds. The couple divorced in 1996 after Diana confronted Charles about his affair with his now wife, Camilla. The famous engagement ring now sits on the hand of Kate Middleton.
