Zelda Fitzgerald, Save Me The Waltz

Zelda Fitzgerald, Save Me The Waltz
First published in 1932, the only novel by Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald is a thinly veiled autobiography of her relationship with husband F. Scott. Although outwardly glamorous and successful, protagonists Alabama and David Knight are a privately miserable pair. Written in the years her husband was completing Tender is the Night, the novel gives a fascinating, insider's perspective on one of America's most famous couples. In its telling conclusion, Alabama confesses: "I just lump everything in a great heap which I have labeled 'the past,' and having thus emptied this deep reservoir that was once myself, I am ready to continue."
